Any one suffering from kheloid / keloid?
Im sure by now you would know what a keloid is: It is a form of scar that does not stop growing but builds up. Normally when we get hurt or wounded the defect is filled by tough fibrous tissue called a scar. This first grows and then shrinks pulling the edges of the wound together like super glue.

Unfortunately in certain individuals this scar tissue continues to grow and doesnt shrink. The cause of this is not known and it may be genetic.

Im a bit puzzled that you say it is "infectious". If you mean that it occurs in areas of injury thats true. But it should not occur in uninjured skin.

Unfortunately its very difficult to treat keloids. There are some treatment modalities but some of them can be expensive and may not give results.

However you will benefit by seeing a good dermatologist. As you are in bangalore may I suggest the dermatology department at St Johns Medical College.

Hope this helps
