Has anyone heard of getting a Keloid scar from a tattoo on their foot?

i wonder if it hurts to get a tattoo!

Has anyone heard of getting a Keloid scar from a tattoo on their foot?
no i havent but i would go to your doctor and get them to check it out for you. hope this helps!
Reply:Anyone who is susceptible to developing keloids will get them with any trauma to their skin, including tattoos.
Reply:People who scar "keloid" style will not just get them on their foot. They will get them anywhere on their body. The tattoo has nothing to do with it.

I got my ear pierced a couple months ago and I think a keloid forming. How can i prevent it from growing more?

So the bump is on front and back of my cartilage upper ear piercing. On the center of my bump is where the piercing hole is, and the color of my bump is nearly the same as my ear. (light brown). It doesn't itch and theres no pain, but it feels hotter than my body sometimes(inflammation?) . Is this keloid?

I clean it at least once a day with bactine but I do tend to play with it a lot. Since I've found out, I have stopped playing with it, prevented it from rubbing into things, and started to do the sea salt warm water washes. I also have an earlobe piercing on the same ear but nothing wrong with it. So what can I do to minimize/prevent further growth or even shrink it a little?

I got my ear pierced a couple months ago and I think a keloid forming. How can i prevent it from growing more?
Stop using bactine, that crap will do more bad for a piercing then good. It'll prolong the healing time. Bactine is used for cuts and scrapes. A piercing is a puncture wound. There is a difference.

Are you sure its a keloid, and not just a bump? I'll leave a link with pics of keloids.. If it's just a bump you could try doing an asprin paste, which is where you crush up an asprin and put a few drops of water in it. Put it over the bump, just don't get it in the hole. If it is a keloid, that link that I posted also give treatment suggestions.

Also stop playing with it. That will also irritate the piercing, and prolong the healing time.
Reply:i would go see a doctor if it gets worse but until then leave it alone and clean it 2x a day (if u just got it pierce clean it with the ear cleaning solution they gave u)

HOw to get rid of a keloid on my nose piercing?

You may not have a keloid.

Most people think that they have a keloid, but its really a blister, or just scar tissue.

What you should do, is start doing sea salt soaks.

1.Wash your hands with an anti-Bacterial or antimicrobial liquid Soap/Wash.

2.Use a disposable cup to mix your sea salt solution. Or clean your cup very well with the anti-bacterial soap.

3.Mix 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt to 8 oz of warm water. (Distilled water if possible)

4.Fully saturate a clean paper towel in the solution and hold the paper towel on your piercing for 10 minuites a day once daily for a week. Only do this to the outside of your piercing.Dont use cotton balls or q-tips. Small cotton fibres can get wraped around the jewlery and get inside the piercing, causeing irritation.

This should help drain the bump, and it should go down. If it dosent go away in a week, increase your sea salt soaks to twice daily and increase your amount of sea salt to 1/2 a teaspoon to 8 oz. Its very important that you measure.

Other tips...

Dont use washcloths, sponges or loofas.

Dont rotate twist or turn the piercing. It forces crust back in the hole.

Be careful not to get it snagges on things.

Dont put makeup on it.

Dont use exfoliating creams near the piercing.

If your unsure about where you got pierced, you could be

If your worried..Its always best to see a doctor, to rule out problems.

Dont use peroxide

Dont use alcohol..alcohol is not supposed to go inside puncture wounds, a piercing is a puncture wound..it can be toxic to your liver and cause abnormal scar formation. The last thing you want is a bad scar on your nose.

If this dosent work, or you are sure that you have a keloid, you have to get it removed by a doctor.

HOw to get rid of a keloid on my nose piercing?
i have a friend and she had them on her ears she had to get it lasered off. so that may be the only way, go to a doctor and see what they say.
Reply:I'm no surgeon, but I don't think you can. If you cut it again, it will just keep building more scar tissue. Didn't you know you were prone to the development of keloids before you did it?
Reply:take a .9mm gun and blast it off =). be careful not to shoot ur nose off tho!
Reply:go to a dermatologist
Reply:I did my own keloids using triamcinolone acetonide injected directly into the lesion with a diabetic needle. I had to do them about 4 or 5 times about 2-3 months apart but the results are fantastic.Don't try it unless you are good with your hands - better still ask your doc to do it for you.

Reply:Mederma is an over the counter skin product made especially for scars like that.
Reply:It probably would be a good idea to go see your family doctor to see if they can inject Kenalog or any equivalent (it's steroid based) and is used to decrease the inflammation in the scar. You would have to get multiple injections on a regular basis to see if it helps. This works well if the scar is relatively new. If not, your doctor can refer you to a dermatologist for other options, such as laser.
Reply:You might want to try silicone strips , they flatten lighten and thin out scar tissue . They were originally used on plastic surgery patients. they can be used again and again. they are on the expensive side, most scar removers on the market contain some form of silicone, it will take some time ,it took a season for them to work on me. Good luck.

How much is it to remove keloid?

I would say 1000- 4000 depending on how big it is. Just a guess. Plastic surgery( i assume that is the professional that would have to do it) is not cheap.

bougainvillea

My siblings and i have contacted keloid since we're barely in our teens. i've been wanting to have a nose lif

You don't "Contact" keloid, it's genetic. It causes excessive scarring. It is predominately a black trait. With surgical intervention you can try and minimize the scar tissue, but the likelihood is, it will always be a huge scar. Check with good, board certified plastic surgeon.

My siblings and i have contacted keloid since we're barely in our teens. i've been wanting to have a nose lif
I also get keloids i had to have one removed from both my ears from having my ears pierced. But I just recently got a tattoo and was worried about that also keloiding, but i was told that my ears did so because the area had to stay open and because my tattoo will heal it would not keloid. So i say go for it and talk to your family doctor first.

What is the best treatment for keloid scar?

my piercer gave me lavender oil and tea tree oil when my keloid formed...the tea tree is supposed to help dry it up (and heal it) and the lavender was used to keep the surrounding area from getting dried out also...

I also changed my nose jewelry...it went away in a couple of weeks.

Hope this helps you!

What is the best treatment for keloid scar?
If your scar is not too old, you can try buying Vitamin E capsule gel at your local drugstore. Puncture the capsule with a clean needle and apply the gel onto the scar. I would do this 3-4 times a day. Depending on how big the scar, do not discard the punctured ca[sule so you can save it for the next use, just be sure to store it in a clean place.

This will not make the scar go away, but lessen the scar. I did this to a very bad scar burn on the breast and it worked wonders. Good luck!

How can you treat pseudofolliculitis barbae keloid???

I got mulitiple bumps on the back of my head and I wanna get them off as soon as possible

How can you treat pseudofolliculitis barbae keloid???
I maybe wrong, but isn't this just ingrown hairs?

Don't cut all the way down, if they stay outside of the skin, they won't become ingrown.

Talk to a dermatologist about it.

Is it possible to get a keloid after getting your tongue pierced?

I was planning on getting one soon and i don't want something retarded like that to happen.

Is it possible to get a keloid after getting your tongue pierced?
yes keloids are possibles, i have seen 4 people in the last 4 months in the shop that came with this problem to me, the people that pierced them did seem like being qualified, from good shops, but it is not the piercers fault if you ever have a keloid, its mainly caused by hardening tissue and certain hormones. i doubt that you will have this problem, all the people i have pierced never had this problem, and i have been dealing with a lot of pierced people from other shop and even online, and heard about this very rarely.
Reply:Just make sure you get a qualified person to pierce it for you. I've had my tongue pierced for over 5 years, there has never been a problem with it (apart from the swelling in the initial week). I've had far more problems with pierced ears (infection, discomfort) than with my tongue.
Reply:I suffer from keloids and when I spoke with my dermatologist and he advised me from getting any piercings and tattoo's. He told me that it is possible to get a keloid in your tongue so be careful.

Rub Tea Tree oil on it like twice a day. It stinks but it worked for me in about a week or two

What is the cure for keloid?

Dont know if there is a cure for it. I had it on my chest a couple of years ago. My doctor use to give me injections but it didnt help after a while, the keloid just kept coming back and it was getting bigger.

I had to get surgery to get it removed. It wasnt a big surgery, may have took 20 minutes or so.

I havent suffered with it after but I was told it can still come back.

What is the cure for keloid?
There is no miracle cure for keloid. I will advice you not to mess with it. If you attempt surgical removal it will cause a still larger keloid. If you have itching or redness over the keloid you need to use steriod ointment over it. You can soften the keloid by locals steriod injections at periodical intervals.

Have you ever got a keloid from an ear piercing?

My cousin has a small wart like bump now that she says will cost a couple hundred to get removed...and here's the kicker, it might grow back. She thinks it was caused by a allergy to the metal in the earrings.......ever had this? I told her maybe should get a clip-on earring to wear over the bump or something.....anyone have any ideas?

Have you ever got a keloid from an ear piercing?
i dont have a keloid however i do have scar tissue in my second whole because it never fully healed right

i woul just leave it alone
Reply:Yeah, my sister-in-law had hers removed but they grew back, I'm not sure how she can hide them, just have to accept it.
Reply:Usually keloids are due to scarring. Yes they can grow back because removing them is a surgical procedure which can also heal with scarring. I have small ones in both ears. It seems to help if I wear solid gold, or surgical steel earrings. Unfortunately some people are just developer keloid scarring with healing. If she gets clip-on earrings, be sure they are not cheap. Get surgical steel, or real gold.
Reply:That scar is called a keloid. A keloid occurs when your body doesn't realize it's time to stop developing reconstructive tissues so it continues to grow. The reason it may come back is because your skin is probably quite delicate. I know this because I have one. I got cortisone shots to help it go down but it doesn't take the red/purple discoloration away completely. I say just leave it alone -- those in airplanes can't see it and those that can probably don't care.
Reply:my daughter got very large keloids from chicken pox. they are scar tissue. a dermotologist removed them and to minimize the chance of them growing back injected them with a cortizone shot and then did some type of laser treatment about 3 times on them over the course of a few months. they didn't come back. they are not dangerous, just ugly.
Reply:no and don't wear any earings.

Anybody ever have a small keloid, what did you do to get rid of it or diminish its appearance?

You have one because this is the way your body "over scars" - so any attempt to remove it will result in a bigger and better keloid. There are products that are meant to reduce the appearance of scars - I have used them, but seems time works just as well.

You might try this site for info: http://www.medicinenet.com/keloid/articl...

if you type in keloid you will get lots of product sites.

I order a product for scars called Mederma, i have a raised keloid scar will that be better than scarguard?

Please advice me i really desperate and i want this Keloid scar to vanish.

I order a product for scars called Mederma, i have a raised keloid scar will that be better than scarguard?
I have a raised keloid scar, and tried both products. Neither worked for me.
Reply:I know that Mederma is the best. I've used it and would recommend it to anyone. As far as Scarguard, I can't really say, I've never used it. I wish you the best of luck, but it won't be really fast...it will take time...a few weeks infact...but you will start to notice a difference in the first couple days...
Reply:My mother had a hysterectomy and did not start using Mederma until the skin was already raised. The cream helped the color and the raised skin but I don't believe it ever completely went away. I had a myomectomy in October and it left me with a scar like I'd had a c-section. I started using Mederma literally the same day I had the surgery!!! My scar never raised and the mark is barely visible. Good Luck!!
Reply:I have even talked to a plastic surgeon about removing a keloid scar and he said there was nothing he could do. Don't expect much from the Mederma as far as the Keloid scar goes. It is great for other scars as long as you are not a smoker.
Reply:I had keloids on the back of both of my ears and I tried so many things to get rid of them. I tried tying string to the back of them and tightening it everyday that did not work. I tried vitamin e on them every night that only made my sheets oily. I tried these special earrings it flattened them then I went to my dermatologist and he referred me to a plastic surgeon. The plastic surgeon gave me 2 steroid injections and cut the keloids off with a scalpel and I wore the special earrings for a couple of weeks and they have yet to come back and its been 2 yrs. So I would suggest the steroid injections.

Does anyone here have a keloid?

I have one and I really want to get it off. Do you know where and how I could get it off?

Does anyone here have a keloid?
they sometimes won't remove them because it is excessive scar tissue that causes a keliod, and even if you do get it removed, it may return do to the trauma of the surgery. i just wanted to let you know that.

What's more effective for keloid, vit E 400 i.u or 100 i.u? Do the iu's make a difference?

I.U. stands for International Units, and are an indication of strenghth. I have never found that keloid scars are helped by Vitamin E, but if this is what has been recommended...

Skin uses vitamins A and D for health. These might be a better bet.

What's more effective for keloid, Vitamin K or Vitamin E?

Vitamin E...even better, put the oil in a shell with mother of pearl surface and rub it around, then rub it on your scar - apparently there's something very gently abrasive in the mother of pearl that when applied with the vitamin E oil is very good at reducing keloid scars.

What's more effective for keloid, Vitamin K or Vitamin E?
here is a site that was made by some dermontologists that tell you what you want to know.
Reply:surgery or modifications on your DNA so that the gene responsible for keloid forming is turned off...

Is there any difference between keloid scars and over granulation?

Keloid is due to over scaring of a wound. It happens to some even in small cuts.

Granulation is when a large wound can not be closed and must heal by slow growth in the wound. This may be done because of infection or where skin is missing do to trauma

I think i have a keloid............???????

ok welll about 2 months ago i got my ears double pierced (in my cartlidge) and i have just gotten a spiral for them about 2 weeks or so ago.....

the spiral looks like this (but thats not my ear):

http://www.bmezine.com/pierce/01-ear/A70...

but now on the back side of my ear there is a big bump bubble thing thats a little smaller than the eraser on a pencil.

im scared and i don't want to have to take my piercing out!

what should i do??!?!? please help me.

I think i have a keloid............???????
I got a keloid on my belly button when I had it pierced a few years back... Sea salt soaks can help with the healing process but my piercer recommended crushed up aspirin mixed with a little water so its like a paste. This kind of eats away at the scar tissue. Just a little care and time and it will heal. Dont take it out... especially if you think its infected. Thats the worst thing you can do. Your cartilage can take up to a year to heal... everyone heals differently and at a different pace :)
Reply:Do sea salt soaks %26amp; hot compresses twice a day and if it doesn't go down, go talk to your piercer.

What can be done about keloid skin?

Hi Mac

Here is an unusual, but very effective method to heal the issue.

BEE VENOM THERAPY

Apitherapy, the medicinal use of honey bee products, has been practiced since ancient times. In the modern world honey bee venom has found wide uses in treating arthritis and other inflammatory and degenerative diseases. The world scientific literature contains more than 1500 articles on bee venom. The French and Russian equivalents of the N.I.H. have been involved in clinical studies of honey bee venom, and in the U.S. the Army has looked extensively at the chemical compounds in bee venom.

Honey bee venom contains at least 18 active substances. Melittin, the most prevalent substance, is one of the most potent anti-inflammatory agents known (100 times more potent than hydrocortisol). Adolapin is another strong anti-inflammatory substance, and inhibits cyclooxygenase; it thus has analgesic activity as well. Apamin inhibits complement C3 activity, and blocks calcium-dependent potassium channels, thus enhancing nerve transmission. Other substances, such as Compound X, Hyaluronidase, Phospholipase A2, Histamine, and Mast Cell Degranulating Protein (MSDP), are involved in the inflammatory response of venom, with the softening of tissue and the facilitation of flow of the other substances. Finally, there are measurable amounts of the neurotransmitters Dopamine, Norepinephrine and Seratonin.

Bee Venom therapy can be useful in a wide variety of medical situations. Charles Mraz, a beekeeper in Middlebury, Vermont who has popularized bee venom therapy for the past 60 years, says that it is reasonable to try bee venom therapy in any clinical situation where nothing else works. However, there are four situations which are most frequent:

1. Arthritis and other systemic inflammations. Bee venom therapy can be useful in both rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, helping with both pain and swelling. In the case of rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatoid nodules can lessen in size. Other connective tissue diseases such as scleroderma have been (anecdotally) helped by BVT. Even systemic inflammations not related to joints, such as ulcerative colitis or even asthma, may warrant a trial of bee venom. This is presumedly due to stimulation of endogenous cortisol through the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis.

2. Acute and chronic injuries. Bursitis, tendonitis and other areas of injury respond well to bee venom therapy. In this case, the effect is probably a local anti- inflammatory effect, involving the humoral and cellular immune responses to a foreign protein. Chronic back and neck pain may respond, as can other aches and pains.

3. Scar tissue. Keloids and other scar tissue are broken down and softened by the substances in the venom, and can flatten out and fade in color. Internalscar tissue, such as adhesions from previous surgery, may respond to treatment over the area.

4. Multiple Sclerosis. This use of bee venom is poorly understood, and needs to be studied further. Recently, the MS Associat ion of America awarded a grant to an immunologist, Dr. John Santilli, to prepare the venom in extract form to study its effect on MS patients. Hundreds of patients with MS currently seek out bee venom therapists and beekeepers. The treatment is prol ongued and not for the squeamish, but the common responses are increased stability, less fatigue, and less spasm.

Best of health to you

What can be done about keloid skin?
if you can find band-aid brand scar therapy it works well. it is a patch that reduces the look of scars, but it is much better than mederma and products like that. i used it after surgery and you cannot see my scar which is on my neck from having my thyroid removed.
Reply:While creams may reduce the amount of pain, itching, and swelling of keloids, they are not meant to treat them. The first treatment is steroid injections monthly until the keloids become less noticeable. If you can afford it or want to save up, laser revision therapy works very well for keloids. Hope it helps some.

Will asprin work on a Keloid like the piercer said?

I got my nose pierced about 4 months ago. The piercer said that after 2 months I could change the nose screw. So about 3 weeks ago, I did. The gauge is smaller than what it was when I got it pierced. All of the sudden, this bumped appeared right above the nose ring. I called to ask what I should do and the piercer told me to mix asprin in warm water till it turns to paste and then put it on the spot and it should disappear in about a week. Is this true? Or is he bs'in?

Will asprin work on a Keloid like the piercer said?
I got one of those when I had my tragus pierced, the piercing shhop told me of a kit you can get that had some sort of esential oil in it or I could jsut leave it alone %26amp; it would go away in a week or so...I left it alone %26amp; it went away all by itslef, I dont see the asprin thing huring thouhg, Id try it jsut to see if it made it go away any faster, I know they are kinda ugly %26amp; if its on your nose you probably want it gone asap...best of luck♥

bottom line though, dont worry it will go away
Reply:A keloid is scar tissue. I doubt aspirin would help that.

If you are talking about a Hematoma, which is a bruising of the skin, it might.
Reply:just clean it for about a week more and it should be fine

I think I have a keloid from my nose piercing, what do I do?
Not every bump you see is a keloid. But follow the first answerer's advice about sea salt soaks, it's good :)

Meanwhile, safepiercing.org is really helpful, I don't want to sound like I'm promoting it or anything but you realllyyy should do your homework before you have any sort of bodily modification done.
Reply:Keep cleaning it twice a day with sea salt %26amp; warm water and it should go down. Go talk to the person who pierced you if you're concerned.

I have a Cesarean section keloid scar 3 years old, best way to minimize it?

please, help me find the best way to minimize my scar, i think its getting biger, is there a cream or something.

I have a Cesarean section keloid scar 3 years old, best way to minimize it?
no creams... sorry. But there is one option if you are not afraid of needles. Your doctor can inject a very low dose steroids directly into the scar and this stops the cells from growing and sometimes it even brings it back to normal... It's up to you to decide if it's worth a try... good luck!
Reply:try "bio oil", it might minimize it if u use it everyday, but i wont perform miricle.
Reply:No, but surgery, and shots.

Remember it's growing inside to.

Be careful about getting any cuts, marks, or tattoos

and no piercings.

Good luck.

I think im growing a keloid on my belly ring but im not sure. someone help me!?

its just like white and crusty around the ring and im not sure what to do cuz i think there might be a little bump.

I think im growing a keloid on my belly ring but im not sure. someone help me!?
It could possibly be a keloid, or maybe even the makings of a cyst. Do NOT remove your jewelry; but do make an appt to be seen by your Dr. ASAP. It may just be a minor infection, but its better to be safe than sorry. And if it is something serious, if you take too long to treat it, later down the road it could require surgery. Don't wait to get it checked out! If your Dr. is too booked to be seen in the near future, take a visit to your local urgent care clinic.

I think i have a keloid on my tragus..?

hi,

i had my tragus pierced about 2-3 weeks ago.. and i have a little blister on it, i think it might be a kleoid.. some people say that you should soak it in warm water and tea tree oil, but do i also wash it with the solution i got from the piercers? and in which order?

or is there any easier way to get rid of it??

thanks in advance!

I think i have a keloid on my tragus..?
Take it out for a few days, replace it with some other stuff which you are comfortable with. Treat it with warm water and tea tree oil as you had mentioned, you may feel better. If you still feel the pain, go and see a doctor.
Reply:yea i don't kno what a tragus is but you have to get a keloid sugicaly removed unless you know someone who will take it off for you(go with choice one because choicee two may be even more painful then getting your "tragus" peirced)
Reply:i would just take it out mate. seriously its not worth it. i had a keloid on my ear and it just grew and grew til i had to have it surgically removed-was really grose. BUUUT before being too hasty go see the piercer or a doctor.

How do you clear skin keloid from a tattoo?

Band-Aid and Curad both make scar-flattening bandage products. They were originally created to prevent keloid formation, but have since been found to reduce existing keloid scars.

They should be in the bandage section of any local first-aid aisle of most grocery or pharmacy stores.

How do you clear skin keloid from a tattoo?
Hey! I had a keloid from a nose piercing an my piercer told me to crush regular plain old aspirin and mix w/a little water to make a paste. put it on the keloid and it dries it out in a couple days. Also keep soaking cotton balls in water as hot as you can stand it and that'll help to. Mine was gone in a couple days. I know. It's a pain!

Can you get tattoos over keloid scars?

If not, what is the best method of removal of them? I have a lot from my teenage days and they are disgusting and embarrasing and its so hard to try to wear short sleeves without covering them up

Can you get tattoos over keloid scars?
Tattooing keloids is a bad idea, the skin is tough, so it won't take pigment well, and the pigment is most likely going to blow out instead of keeping it's shape.

Try silicone pads, my friend used them after a car accident left her face badly scarred and they worked really well .

Reply:the guy on miami ink did it one time so it should work for you too
Reply:Why not? My tattoo artist worked with my scar and incorporated it into the deisgn.

Scars are hard to remove, being keloids, its a lotta time, and as above, silicone patches would help. You could try lightening creams too.

How do you remove a keloid?

Never do it by yourself. Your keloid will even spread and get worse. Let a cosmetic surgeon do.

How do you remove a keloid?
keloids are nothing to play with at home go see a dermatologist as they can increase in size and cause more scarring.

My hair covers it. Is your hair too short to cover it up?
Reply:If you have a keloid on your head, can't you just grow hair to cover it up? Once it has healed and already is a keloid, the only thing that will take it away is plastic surgery. If I was embarrassed and it was noticeable, until I could do something about it, I'd just make up a really cool story about how it got there.
Reply:A dermatologist recently told me he was being treated for a keloid behind his ear by another doctor. He said they used injections of ---I think he said cortisone---every so often. The keloid was flat and and normal colored and didn't look bad at all, but he did say that it was somewhat painful when injected. Probably still better than a keloid scar.

I don't know how you would cover the keloid up for school except with a bandaid. Possibly some liquid makeup or something like that may make it less noticeable. It may fade in time.
Reply:depends on whwere it is , a bandade will only draw attention to it, leave it alone people may not notice.

In getting rid of a keloid scar with laser, I got a nasty burn--how can I reduce or get rid of the burn marks?

Don't laugh.. but when my mom was going through radiation therapy.. they told her to use hemorhoid cream on the burns.. and believe it or not.. it worked...... she dosen't even have scar's from it!

Also try vitamin E gel caps.... poke a hole in the gel cap.. and squeeze the vit E out.. rub it on...%26lt;we use that for sun burns%26gt;

Hope that helps....

cocoa butter might help. try it.Good luck.
Reply:Palmer's cocoa butter alternated with, sounds weird, but a hemorrhoid cream. Do it twice a day, one at night, the other in the morning. If you swim or sweat a lot try three times a day, twice with hemorrhoid cream.

Problem with navel piercing, granulation, keloid, infection???

there is a ring of white lumpy skin around the piercing, and a few blood blisters keep emerging from within the piercing.

what's wrong, how can i stop it and heal it, and how can i prevent it happening again?

serious answers from those who actually kno what they're talking about please.

Problem with navel piercing, granulation, keloid, infection???
It looks like your navel ring is infected. You basically need to sterilize the area and keep it clean.

I had the same problem when I got my nipple pierced. I did a few things:

1) I changed my nipple ring to a larger size so that there is no pressure on the skin near the ring.

2) I rotated the ring daily and cleaned the area well with soap %26amp; water and also sprayed it with saline solution (they sell the solution in piercing stores)

Are you allergic to the metal that your ring is made out of? Maybe you need to switch to pure gold or another metal.

I ended up taking my nipple ring out because it takes too much time to maintain. Good luck.

Which is the best Keloid scar treatment in the market other than the regular ones that promises to dissapear?
keloids can only be treated by steroid injections or surgical removal. If you have a bad scar, go to your doctor to find out what type of scar it is. He/she will be able to perscribe treatment.

If you just have a regular, hypertrophic scar, I've found that vitamin E oil (make sure you have no broken skin) works best. Buy the capsules and use one each day on the scar, massage in well. The massage will help encourage blood flow to the area and break down the scar tissue.

Good luck!
Reply:For scar treatment I use cocoa butter. I have a very large scar on my forearm from a surgery years ago and cocoa butter has faded that scar a significant amount....

What exactly is a keloid and how exactly can you get rid of them?

I have had one for years on the back of my earlobe that I had pierced. I believe I got it from the piercing gun. Word to the wise, don't use piercing guns, stick with a needle and a professional doing it.

What exactly is a keloid and how exactly can you get rid of them?
I'm willing to bet that you are correct, the piercing is how you got the keloid. Piercing guns force a (relatively) blunt object through your skin rather than the cut that's produced by a needle. There are also other unsafe considerations when using piercing guns and for all of those reasons I would refuse to use one.

But for the treatment of your keloids, you might wish to check the page below or try (if you are over 18) going to BMEzine.com to search the answers/ask questions of the piercing experts. I've found that they have very reliable information for almost every occasion/concern.
Reply:keloid is a scar and no it won't go away
Reply:You can possibly reduce the size of the keloid by visiting the dermatologist and having them put a shot of cortizone in it. That's the only treatment I'm aware of.
Reply:Some people have a tendency to form keloids, which is merely excessive scar tissue.

The solution is to have the excess tissue surgically removed, but that's another "wound" and it can lead to even more excess scar tissue.

The piercing gun had nothing to do with it; you're as likely to do this any way you get a skin wound.
Reply:Hi Jake,

A keloid is scar tissue that builds up over an incision, or deep cut, but usually under the epidermis (outer layer of skin). If it is under the stitches, you cannot get rod if it but it is harmless (I have keloid scar from a C Section).

If the scar tissue has reached the outer layer of skin, use Sheah Butter, Cocoa butter or Vitamin E and rub it on the scar a few times a day. You can find these lotions at any Walgreens or CVS.

Or, if you want to go a more expensve route, use Mederma, a lotion specifically made to resduce the look of scars. But it is $17-$28 dollars a tube.

How can i prevent keloid from forming on my nose?

Dont get it pierced nor have any surgery on it.

Keloids are most commonly located on the chest, upper back, and shoulders. However, they can appear almost anywhere, such as in surgical scars any place on the body and in the earlobes or other areas that have been pierced for cosmetic purposes.

How do you remove keloid scar on your face?

keloid is a special type of scar which results in an overgrowth of tissue at the site of a healed skin injury. Keloids are firm, rubbery lesions or shiny, fibrous nodules and can vary from pink to flesh-colored or red to dark brown in color. Keloid isn't lethal but a keloid scar exposed to the sun can increase the chance on getting skin cancer. A keloid is benign, noncontagious and usually painless, but they can be a cosmetic problem. Keloids should not be confused with Hypertrophic scars, which are raised scars that do not grow beyond the boundaries of the original wound and may reduce over time.

Treatments

* Surgery — Surgery requires great care during and after the operation. Keloids that return after being excised may be larger than the original. There is a 45% chance of recurrence after surgical removal. However, keloids are less likely to return if surgical removal is combined with other treatments. Surgical or laser excision may be followed by intralesional injections of a corticosteroid. Plastic closure of the skin including techniques such as v-plasty or w-plasty to reduce skin tension are known to reduce recurrence of keloids following excision.

* Dressings — Moistened wound coverings made of silicone gel (such as Dermatix) or silastic have been shown in studies to reduce keloid prominence over time. This treatment is safe and painless.

* Steroid injections — Steroid injections are best used as the scar begins to thicken or if the person is a known keloid former. A series of injections with triamcinolone acetonide or another corticosteroid may reduce keloid size and irritation. However injections are often uncomfortable and in large and/or hard scars can be difficult to inject requiring local anesthetic for people over 16, and full anesthetic for people under ?. The treatment area can become very painful as the anesthetic wears off.

* Compression — Compression bandages applied to the site over several months, sometimes for as long as six to twelve months, may lead to a reduction in the size of the keloid. This is the best treatment at preventing new scars.

* Cryosurgery — Cryosurgery is an excellent treatment for keloids which are small and occur on lightly pigmented skin. It is often combined with monthly cortisone injections. The use of cryotherapy is limited since it causes skin blanching. It freezes the skin and causes sludging of the circulation beneath, effectively creating an area of localized frostbite. There is a slough of skin and keloid with re-epithelization .

* Radiation therapy — Electron beam radiation can be used at levels which do not penetrate the body deeply enough to affect internal organs. Orthovoltage radiation is more penetrating and slightly more effective. Radiation treatments may reduce scar formation if they are used soon after a surgery while the surgical wound is healing. This is one of the more costly procedures.

* Laser therapy — This is an alternative to conventional surgery for keloid removal. Lasers produce a superficial peel but often do not reduce the bulk of the keloid. The use of dye-tuned lasers has not shown better results than cold lasers.

* Newer treatments — Drugs which are used to treat autoimmune diseases or cancer have shown promise. These include alpha-interferon, 5-fluorouracil and bleomycin. However, there is a need for further study and evaluation of this treatment technique.

Reply:I agree with tsopolly. I, too, have keloids on my chest and have had cortisone injections on a monthly basis and it has helped to flatten out the scar. It feels like someone pinching you, so it's not a bad procedure at all. They take like 10 minutes to do it.

I then have also had laser surgery in which the dr. uses a laser to get rid of the redness. This, too is very minor and not a bad procedure. Takes a little longer depending on the severity of the blood vessels.

Can people who get keloid scars get tattoos?

Yes.

Can people who get keloid scars get tattoos?
I wouldn't risk it. If you can get a keloid from a pimple, then surely it is possible to get some type of keloid with tattoos. Better to be safe than sorry. Also, tattoos go out of fashion, so in the year 2020, someone might see your tat and say "that is sooo 2007 or naughties "00" ". How have you gone with piercing? If you got even a little bit of keloid with piercing, you are bound to get much more with tattooing as it is much more harsh. Get some henna tats done. You'll look cool for now, and still have the option to change your mind.
Reply:It may be possible but really depends on the individual's scar. You should first consult with a tattoo artist.

Could it be a keloid?

Could it be a keloid?
I had a massive keloid on the back of my ear i had to get it surgical removed.the best way to prevent a keloid from a pericing is to not irritate it dotn touch dotn pull it and dont take the ear ring out alot because it just irates the scar tissue and causes a keloid to form.some ppl are proun to keloids after my keloid on the back of my ear i never got a peircing again.but i dont think it can happen right after you get it periced becouse scar tissue takes time to form.min e took a logn tiem for it to get big like 6 months.

I have a small keloid on my left ear?

How can the doctors remove it? How much would it cost to remove it? It's hard and black; it's been on my ears for over 3 years now; the only reason why I couldn't get it remove was because I didn't have the money or I wasn't on any health insurance.

I have a small keloid on my left ear?
More than likely it can be removed. I work for a group of surgeons who do these types of things all the time. As for the cost, you are gonna have to see a doctor to determine that (and that consult will cost you too!) It depends on how big it is, and if there is any reconstruction needed (skin graft)...the type of anesthesia that is used, and where it is done...office, surgery center, hospital.
Reply:go get a romulian. those guys fight all the time
Reply:I don't know if they will remove it, a keloid is usually cause by scar tissue, they can however inject it with steroids to make the appearance better....

You should see a dermatologist for that...
Reply:A lot of times it can be removed in a doctor's office. The area is deadened, and an incision is made to "pop" the keloid out. The area is then sutured, and the lesion is usually sent to pathology to make sure that's really what it is. Sutures are removed in about 5 days. The cost will be around $400-500, which includes pathology charges.

Hope this helps!

How long before a keloid appears after you've had your cartilage piercing?

How long before a keloid appears after you've had your cartilage piercing?
The way to figure out if you are susceptible is to check your other scars. If you have a lot of hard raised scars then you are. If most are flat and smooth you're okay.
Reply:You're welcome. Glad to help! Report It

Reply:Not everyone is susceptible to getting keloids. You may never get one. Although piercing of the cartilage is still risky. Infections are higher in this area than in your earlobe.
Reply:Not everyone develops this type of scarring. It's more common among blacks. If, however, you have a history of keloids, the formation begins immediately as the healing process begins and continues until healing is complete. It's part of the healing process.
