The way to figure out if you are susceptible is to check your other scars. If you have a lot of hard raised scars then you are. If most are flat and smooth you're okay.

Reply:Not everyone is susceptible to getting keloids. You may never get one. Although piercing of the cartilage is still risky. Infections are higher in this area than in your earlobe.
Reply:Not everyone develops this type of scarring. It's more common among blacks. If, however, you have a history of keloids, the formation begins immediately as the healing process begins and continues until healing is complete. It's part of the healing process.
