How to alleviate a keloid from nose piercing?

I have had this nose piercing for almost 1 year. I have had a keloid before (5 mths ago) with this piercing and it went away when I put in a larger gauge (thinner shaft/stem). Now this keloid has appeared out of nowhere and I don't think there is a larger gauge than 18 or 20 and I already have that size in my nose now. Is there any medication to suppress this reaction. Should I change my nose bone or just take it out?

You should probably go down a gauge. That happened because you stretched your skin too fast. Go down some guages and see what happens. I'm thinking that the keloid should get smaller but it will take some time.
Reply:talk to a plastic surgeon.
Reply:Sometimes getting the keloid injected with a steroid will stop the inflammatory reaction (that is what is causing the keloid). A dermatologist can do this. Cutting a keloid off usually just results in another keloid.
Reply:Keloids are something you develop depending on your genetics. Some people scar up easier than others. For scars, like from removing moles, a doctor can inject medication that causes the scar to sink down and not be a lump.
