Keloid nose ring infection?

I got my nose pierced once, and after it started healing i got a keloid. it was so bad, that one day after showering, my piercing came out and the guy at the shop said to let it close and let it heal. After getting it done again, i have the same keloid again, its not as bad but still ugly. I have been cleaning it every day twice a day with the sea salt spray and tea tree oil (thats what the guy said to use). But no luck. should i change the piercing? what should i do. Please help :)

Keloid nose ring infection?
Are you sure it's a keloid? Many people get bumps (including me) after they get their nose pierced. Try cleaning it with antibacterial soap twice a day instead. My bump went away after two weeks. Hopefully that will work.
Reply:I'd stick with studs in your nose, they tend to not get infected.

Also, I never heard of cleaning it with tea tree oil.

All my successful piercings have been cleaned with alcohol or water.
Reply:I had a similiar problem.

My roommate actually gave me an excellent solution. Whenever I used the sea salt spray, it just dried it out, thus creating more problems. So, I started to go to Proxide. The Proxide worked well. It actually got rid of it for a while.

The little bugger came back and then my roommate told me to use eye contact solution. She's a nursing major so she said that the solution kills bad proteins and fights infections. I used it and I've never had a problem!

So, my suggestions are either to use proxide or eye contact solution.

If that doesn't work, trying getting a nose ring that's gold. You might be allergic to the sterling silver. Good luck!
