Can a keloid become infected and if so what are the symptons?

Have you or do you know anyone who has a keloid that has become infected?if so what were the symptons and what was the treatment used?and how is it now?just to show im not mixed up,i am talking about a grown keloid being infected!

Can a keloid become infected and if so what are the symptons?
Where is the keloid? Are you referring to a keloid on a piercing?

I *thought* I had a keloid on my eyebrow piercing for a while, but now I think it's some kind of abscess (an abscess *is* an infection - it's a bump that leaks whitish fluid). I don't think it's common for keloids to become infected if you're taking care of your piercing every day (washing with soap) and not putting harsh crap on it like ear piercing solution, but I'm almost certain they can get infected. All I've been doing to treat mine is sea-salt soaks like three times a day for 10 minutes - 1/4 tablespoon sea salt to 1 cup warm water, pour into little disposable bathroom cup, suction onto the spot.

If it's a piercing, go have a piercer look at it. If not, go to the doctor.
Reply:A bushwack. Report It

Reply:they only get infected when someone picks at them.

treated like any other skin infection.
