Keloid cure?

my bf has a scar on his ear that keeps growing, his doc thought it was a sist but when they were removing it they found out it was actually something else, after running some tests they concluded that it was just scar tissue but it will keep growing back unless he goes to a plastic surgeon...he was looking on the internet about it and it says that that sort of thing is called a keloid...does anyone know of a treatment that will prevent it from coming back over and over again...i really appreciate your help

Keloid cure?
A keloid is very hard to treat. It is scar tissue that the cell growth has gone out of control. That is why his doctor said to go to a plastic surgeon. A new scar after the keloid is removed could easily grow another keloid if not treated properly. Sometimes a drug named interferon can be injected into the keloid to stop the growth. But there again, a plastic surgeon needs to be the one who does this.
Reply:no medicinal treatment for this one Im afraid. The doctor's right, he needs to go into surgery to get this fixed. One surgery is usually all it takes though.
