Do keloid scars hurt or itch?

This is another question concerning my industrial piercing.......if the bump on the underside of the top piercing IS in fact a keloid, then I want to know how you can tell (like the symptoms of) if it is a keloid. For example, my top piercing is a tiny bit itchy, and it does NOT hurt. I'm trying to distinguish whether the bump is just a part of the healing process or if this is actually serious damage. So, my question is: Does a keloid itch, burn, hurt, etc.? (By the way, if anyone knows for sure if this is just a part of the healing process, how could I get the bump to go away?)

Do keloid scars hurt or itch?
Yes, keloids can burn, itch, hurt, turn red, swell randomly, and all of the above. I have a large one in a former piercing that I didn't get taken care of soon enough.

My suggestion? See a doctor that is non-judgmental as soon as you can and have them inject the keloid with cortisone. This will sometimes reduce the keloid, and usually keep it from growing.

As you may know, keloids are scar tissue (normal) gone wild (not normal). The sooner you take care of it, or take out the piercing (I didn't want to do that either!), the smaller it turns out to be!
Reply:The answer in good but why u don't want to do it? Report It

Reply:I have a couple on my chest, but they are very small, they almost look like small pimples...but mine only itch occasionally. I guess the larger scars are the ones that hurt.
