Keloid around nose peircing?

I got my nose pierced last April. A few months ago, I noticed a lump around my piercing, I thought it was an infection, and went back to my piercer. She told me that it was a keloid and to put tea tree oil on it twice a day. I have been doing that for two months, and it has not gone away. What should I do?

Keloids are common among the African American community.

Flava flav girl in second season had some.

Maybe surgery, but no no sort of tea is going to help.
Reply:use a hot paper towel as hot as u can stand and compress it for about five minutes then use the sea salt and water solution to create a suction around the piercing and soak for about 15 minutes....every night for two weeks...its supposed to dry it out Report It

Reply:Make sure that your nose jewelry does not have nickel in it. Many people are allergic to this metal.
Reply:I had the same problem. Turns out that I am allergic to Nickel. I took that one out and got it repierced on the other side. This time the piercer put in a plastic bone. These are fairly new. Ask him if they have them. I have not had any problems with it and I've had it for about a year now. It's great!!
Reply:i have had a keloid on the back of my ear for years. The only thing that will get rid of it = I have been told is surgery. Or see your dermitoligist.
Reply:Take out the piercing if your body is reacting to it. Perhaps piercings aren't for you.
Reply:to get rid of it u can see about surgery obviously ur whole skin doesnt keloid cuz any type of cut or piercing would make u keloid, my grandmas friend has keloid skin and she had a big cut and it keloided and the doctors said if she got it removed then another scar would appear and keloid, so now she she has a big lump on her arm!!!
Reply:Keloids are very common in African American and Asia skin. If it truly is a keloid there is no type of oil that can get rid of it. The only way is surgery. You should see your family physician and have him tell you. If it is don't get anymore piercings because they will come up everywhere you Peirce. keloids don't occur after a small cut or a scratch, but always after a traumatic event (ex: surgery, piercings, etc.) it is your bodies way of healing itself. Just be careful what you choose to do to your skin.
Reply:i notice that ALOT of people who have nose piercing have that too.

just be patient and listen to what the doc said.
