How to remove what I think is a keloid?

I got my left ear pierced late this summer and all was well until a few weeks later I went and got my other ear pierced. I thought it would look unusual if I had a normal earing in one ear and a piercing earing in the other so i forced the piercing earing into my left ear which was too small for it to fit in. Shortly therafter i got a black bump on my ear (only the left) and my friends and family told me it was a keloid. I looked up on keloids and usually they are hugte and located at the back of the ear but this is not the case with me. My keloid is a small dark bump on my ear and is very unsightly. Unfortunately i waited a few months to get it checked out and the doctor said he would give me a shot (which I'm thinking was a cortisone shot) %26amp; it should go away, if not i was to see him in 3 weeks and he would give me another shot, it has been just over 2 weeks now and I haven't noticed a change in the keloid. Is this even a keloid or is it a different type of scar? How can i remove it

This definitely sounds like a keloid. Sometimes the medication makes a difference, sometimes they have to be removed through surgery. Whatever you do, don't try to remove it yourself! This will only make the keloid worse.
Reply:My orthopedic doctor told me to use aloe vera and vitamin e for my keloid scars due to surgery on my knee. Although this doesnt completely remove the keloid, it does lighten the skin as so it is less noticeable.
Reply:i had a keloid on one of my industrial holes %26amp; i put hydrogren peroxide gel on it %26amp; soaked it in hot sea salt water for 5 mins for a couple days. that burned it off, but it came back. then, i started putting 100% tea trea oil on it every day, %26amp; it just went away again. so, i speak from experience when i say tea tree oil works reallly really well. you just gotta make sure it's the 100% and not diluted crap like they sell at the body shop.
