What's a keloid?

I've been reading about cartilidge piercings because I just got mine done 2 months ago, and I hear people saying that they got keloids from getting it done. What is a keloid and will I get one?

What's a keloid?
A keloid is overly developed scar tissue. It just becomes a large area of scar that is raised on the surrounding skin. Some people (particularly blacks) seem to be pre-disposed to keloid formation.

If you have any scars already....are they raised? If they are normal looking scars then changes are you are not a keloid former. good luck ~~
Reply:Keloids are when scares overdevelop

Keloids depend on the person...its not a guarentee
Reply:I have had a keloid many time...it is just and infection on the cartilage from not cleaning or over cleaning it or using the wrong stuff...if you get one it is not that serious just get sea salt and use it for atleast a week.
Reply:Keloids form as a result of an overproduction of scar tissue. It is more common in those with a darker pigment to their skin such as African-Americans.
