Does having a keloid problem afftect getting tattooed???

i have a keloid problem.. whenever my skin is broken it heals thrice as fast when compared to a normal person. but my skin continues to heal long after the healing is done.. the result is that i tend to get a small or large bump depending on the size of the skin breakage or cut over the area which is nothing but skin cells.. benign lump.. If i get tattooed, will the area of the tattoo become the same???

Because of the genetic nature of your skin it will see a tatoo as an invasion and it will do its best to erradicate it from the skin. The problem being that you wont have a great deal of your tatoo left to see because the keloids will take it away. Unfortunately this will happen on any area of your body ,so it is better to leave the tatooing alone , or go for transfers or try henna tatooing which can stay on the skin for a long time . They can actually be pretty cool .
Reply:yes in certain persons repairing does get erratic. this is genetically programmed. so its best for you to not to go for tatoo.
Reply:I am no tattoo specialist,(but a nurse) but to my mind tattooing breaks the skin and so I can't see why it would react differently than any other time it needs to heal. So I imagine it would overgranulate(when it keeps healing and goes bumpy), there are treatments to prevent overgranulation, but I don't know how/if this would affect the quality of the tattoo.
Reply:A reposnsible tattoo artist will ask about keloid and refuse to tattoo a person with this problem. The result would probably be lumpy and ugly ... what artist wants to put his or her name on an ugly tattoo?
