Nose ring infected, is it a keloid?

I had my bf pierce my nose with one of those disposable ear piercing guns. Now the piercing has this little red bump on it and the ring goes through it. Is it infected? I read on other questions that it might be a keloid formed from the piercing *I think it's from cheap jewelry*. Should I take it out? or is there a way I can get a better quality ring and keep it clean so the bump goes away?

Oh and now sometimes when i take it out, if I push from the other side of my nose on the inside it almost looks like this skin comes out and there's some blood, I took a little of it out and it didn't hurt, what is that? It's almost like skin or whatever is inside the bump or deeper maybe?

Nose ring infected, is it a keloid?
No, it is NOT a keloid. You have an infection. No offense, but get to a doctor ASAP. Want an incentive? You could permanently disfigure your nose and spend thousands in cosmetic surgery to TRY to get it fixed.
Reply:It is not a keloid -- that is a form of scar tissue. It might be an infection.
Reply:Do not take out your piercing completely because the infection/ whatever it is may close and it will be trapped there, which will require surgical removal, probably. Get a nose stud made of a metal you are positive you aren't allergic to (whatever you wear in your ears should be fine). Make sure the nose pin is straight, and doesn't have a ball at the end, to prevent further irritation. Clean the piercing three times a day with bactine, or sea salt formula (h2ocean is what I used), and get rid of crusties when they collect, because they may further delay the healing process. Make sure you don't handle it too often and when you do, your hands are clean. I have had my nose pierced three times (the first two times I did myself with an earring in my bathroom), and following these procedures has helped me a lot. I have had no problems with my nose piercings at all.
Reply:it could be a keloid. tyr sea slat soaks and tea tree oil. if it gets bigger or dosent improve in a few days, go to a piercer, the will be able to make a diagnosis. leave the jelewery in and try the above first. If dosent improve, a professional piercer will be able to tell u what to do. oh by the way, sometimes small bumps are common on nose piercings, its simmilar to a pimple, thats where sea salt soaks and tea tree oil helps. if not it could be more serious.
Reply:This is success story you can see on Wild Sound Proper Nose Piercing Care.

" I had developed the dreaded “Bump”, a pimple-like bump next to the piercing that just doesn’t seem to want to budge. But I found some mention of tea tree oil as a possible use for cleaning piercings, so gave it a try. Dipping a Qtip in some oil and dabbing it on my nose once a day was a much more reasonable care regime, even though this oil STINKS like paint thinner. And it is STRONG--they actually tell you to cut it with grapeseed oil because it’s so strong, but I didn’t want to waste time so I used full-strength.

And, my nose bump, which had been resistant to everything else, peeled away in 3 days.

So for those of you despairing that your cute nose ring is marred by this unbudgeable bump, fear not, it will budge. There is a CURE. The bump has gone and has been for months. It did come back when my allergies flared up and I was blowing my nose a lot, but I started with the oil again and the bump went away again in a couple days.

UPDATE: Make sure the tea tree oil you buy is 100% tea tree and not mixed with something else. Some people are finding the oil to take longer than 3 days to get rid of the bump, and it turns out they didn’t realize their bottle of oil is diluted with grapeseed oil or some other kind of oil. It’ll still work, but will probably take a couple weeks."
