i have a swollen ring around the piercing, could this be a keloid, and infection or just normal in the healing process?
how can i reduce the swelling and decrease the chance of it happening again?

Try getting a new belly ring. My sister had a hard time with infection, and it was because the belly ring she had was scratched up, and would re-open the hole. She also used Tea Tree oil to clean the infected area.
Reply:remove the ring until the inflamation goes down. usually a scar developes from infection. a kiloid is a post op infection and it's way bigger than the normal scar.
