Keloid (Around my belly ring)?
Hi That Princess,

when my wife got her navel pierced she also developed a small growth under the pierced hole inside of her navel.

She soaked the fresh piercing with saline solution twice daily and used antibacterial soap while taking a shower and the growth - it might have been a keloid - went away.

I have to add that my wife has a tendency of developing scar tissues and after getting her navel pierced she was thinking - Oh no, again I have the scar tissue and this time after such a tiny wound as a piercing....

In about a few weeks time it vanished...

However, it's not an indicator that everything is going to be fine in your case and you should just wait. I did some research on the Net and it seems that on some occasions it can become really nasty....

I suggest you visit your GP to get a professionals advice.

Check the first link below from Wikipedia about the keloids.

The second link about my wife's belly button infection although you can't see the keloid there - it's covered by the belly ring.
Reply:You should go to the doctor..usually keloid is treated with triamcinolen injection some 3-4 times at the point of keloid
Reply:well first, you arent supposed to use neosporin because it is oil based and prevents oxygen from reaching the wound and while cause complications.

my piercer recommends crushing aspirin and mixing with warm water til its a paste and putting it on the keloid.
